Virkstedet – Nørrebro’s green community hube

With only 7 m² of green space per resident, Nørrebro needs green breathing spaces and communities. That’s why Virkstedet exists: a non-profit multi-space that serves as a garden, workshop, and stage – a place for green initiatives, creativity, and togetherness.

Here, residents, enthusiasts, and organizations can meet, exchange ideas, and create activities that make Nørrebro greener and more vibrant – from workshops, communal meals, and clothing swap markets to plant experiments and DIY days.

Anyone can rent Virkstedet for a symbolic fee, which goes toward its operation. Renters are responsible for setup and cleanup. Built from recycled materials and run by volunteers, Virkstedet is an open space where ideas can grow and communities can flourish. Book Virkstedet – and help shape Nørrebro’s green future.

Plan a celebration with a full dinner and exquisite food, or choose a cozy reception with light, delicious refreshments such as finger food and appetizers. Whatever you choose, Globalhagen provides the perfect setting for an unforgettable experience.

In collaboration with Jacob & The Spices, private event spaces are available, with food, drinks, and service all seamlessly taken care of. A tailored solution can be created to suit any occasion.
